Hello my name is Chaya and I am a native Cambodian, I was born in Siem Reap the old capital city of the Kingdom of Cambodia in 1970. I am the oldest son in my family amongst eight brothers and sisters. I have been through many wartime in my country, the Lon Nol government (1970-75) the Pol Pot genocidal regime, the Khmer rouge people republic (1975-79) the People Republic of Kampuchea, socialism under the Vietnamese rule (1979-89) the State of Cambodia (1990-1993) and the Kingdom of Cambodia (1993-the present). I started school just after The Khmer rouge collapsed in 1979 when I was 9,(now children start school at age of six) that was a bit late but I was the youngest student in my class, because during Khmer rouge there was no school, I finished high school 1989 and I had attended the teacher training school for two years, then I worked for the UNHCR in 1993 for the general election in Cambodia. I have been teaching English since 1994. In 1995 I passed the test to joined the short course of guide training, I succeeded and got the license for business as a freelance tour guide of the Angkor Archeological Park. I enjoy this work very much, I always try my best to perform the duty and I keep studying more and more. I had attended the university of Human Recourse Management for four years ( 2002-06)

Angkor Wat is one of the seven wonders of the world which was built by the Khmer people in the 12th century, Angkor Wat is the world heritage and it stands for the national flag of Cambodia.
